There are many different styles of mosaic lamps for you to choose from, the most well-known of which are probably the Tiffany, or Tiffany-style lamps which hail from the art deco/nouveau eras. The inspiration for multi-colored mosaic lamps probably arose when people noticed the beauty of sunlight shining through a church or chapel stained-glass window and wished to replicate that effect within their homes. True original Tiffany lamps will now cost you many hundreds of dollars but it is possible to purchase excellent replicas. Modern day mosaic lamps do not only use colored glass for the shade, but it is also possible to have the mosaic effect on the base of the lamp as well. These lamps are ideal for illuminating a dark or gloomy corner in your home as they will cast delightful rainbow hues onto any plain wall they stand beside. If you decide on a multi-colored lamp then it is best to team it with plain accessories to truly appreciate the colors in the lamp, without overloading your senses. Or choose one color from the lamp to accentuate in different areas of your room, for example a striking purple in the glass can be picked up in coordinating cushions and throws. Wherever you choose to place a multi-colored mosaic lamp within your home, you will be sure to have a delighted response from friends and family when they visit!
