Are you living in a house with small kitchen and confused as to how to make the most of your available space? If so, you can be assured that it does not mean that having a small kitchen will not provide you with the opportunity to create a well-designed kitchen arrangement which will not only feel comfortable, but will also feel welcoming to friends and family alike.
Generally, having a small kitchen will mean that you will want to make the very best of whatever storage space you have available. This is crucial because having utensils left out on counter tops will only mean that your kitchen will look even smaller and so the first thing that you should consider is the style of kitchen cabinets to choose. Try and pick ones which have additional shelving options so that you can place everything away and out of sight. And if you do have the opportunity to fill an empty corner, then consider a corner carousel which has shelves which rotate to the front when the cupboard door is opened. This will mean you can make the most of what is usually a redundant and little-used space.
The next thing you need to think about is the kitchen color scheme. Choosing dark colors may seem to create a cosy space but they can also make for a dingy and dull scheme. Try and choose something which will allow the available light to flood the room so go for bright or neutral pastels; nothing which will make the room feel even smaller. Also think about carefully placing a large mirror opposite the window so that the available light will be bounced around the room, creating the feel of a much larger space.
